PEDAGOGIK: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran Fakultas Tarbiyah Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh is publishes original articles on the latest issues and trends occurring internationally in education, learning and teaching, education policy, education management, education best practice, curriculum, education assessment, education technology, language education and preparation of science teachers with the aim to advance our knowledge of education theory and practice (Learning and Teaching). Moreover, this journal also covers the issues concerned with environmental education (Learning and Teaching).

Publication Ethics

Pedagogik: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran Fakultas Tarbiyah Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh (e-ISSN 2622-9005) is a peer-reviewed journal published by Islamic Studies Faculty (FAI) of Muhammadiyah Aceh University. This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including authors, chief editors, editorial boards, peer-reviewers and publishers.

 

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The article publication in peer-reviewed this journal is essential in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the work quality of the authors and the institutions that support it. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is  important to agree on standards of ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in publishing: writers, journal editors, peer-reviews, publishers and the society.

The Islamic Studies Faculty (FAI) of Muhammadiyah Aceh University as the publisher of this journal carries out guardianship duties in all stages of publishing seriously and we acknowledge ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring advertisement; reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions.

Publication Decisions

The editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal for publication. Editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and limited by the legal requirements that will apply regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editor may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.

Fair Play

Editors evaluate the manuscripts for their intellectual content regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality or political philosophy every time.

Confidentiality

Editors and any editorial staff may not disclose any information about the submitted manuscript to anyone besides authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers and appropriate publishers.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript may not be used in the editor's own research without the written consent of the author.


DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviews assist editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with authors can also assist the authors in improving articles

Promptness

Any selected decision-maker who feels qualified to review the research reported in the manuscript or knows that a quick review is not possible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts that are accepted for review must be treated as confidential documents, may not be displayed or discussed with others except as permitted by the editor.

Standard of Objectivity

Reviews must be done objectively. The author's personal criticism is inappropriate. Decision makers must express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any previously reported statements of observations, derivations, or arguments must be accompanied by the relevant citation. Reviewers should also call the editor's attention to any substantial similarities or overlaps between the manuscripts under consideration and other papers published based on their personal knowledge.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Confidential information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest as a result of competitive, collaborative, other relationships or connections with the authors, companies, or institutions linked to the article.

 

DUTIES OF AUTHORS

Reporting Standards

The author of the original research report must present an accurate report of the work performed as well as the objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data must be presented accurately in the article. An article must contain sufficient references to allow others to cite it. Statements that are deceptive or intentionally inaccurate are unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that they have written completely original work, and if the author has used someone else's work and/or words then it should be cited appropriately.

Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication

An author may not publish manuscripts that essentially describe the same research in more than one journal or major publication. Submitting the same manuscript for more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Proper recognition of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the work reported.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, implementation or interpretation of the reported research. Everyone who has made a significant contribution must be registered as a co-author. If others have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be recognized or registered as contributors. Related authors must ensure that all appropriate co-authors and nothing is incompatible, co-authors are included in the manuscript, and that all co-authors have viewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to submission for publication.

Hazards to Human or Animal Subjects

If the work involves chemicals, procedures or equipment that have unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author must clearly identify these in the manuscript.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose in their text any substantive financial conflicts or interests that may be interpreted to affect the results or interpretation of their text. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

When an author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in the published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and work closely with the editor to retract or correct the manuscript.
