Collaborative Approach: A Way of Improving Students’ Writing Skill in Classroom
Abstract
Latar belakang permasalahan penelitian ini adalah kurangnya proses menulis tanpa revisi membuat mahasiswa lemah atau tidak mengetahui kekurangannya dalam menulis. Tujuan penelitia ini adalah menulis melalui ‘proses’ dimana mahasiswa bisa saling mengkoreksi, memperbaiki dan memberi masukan terhadap tulisan.Penelitian inimenghasilkan data temuan akhir berupa tabel dan analisa secara mendalam. Pertama, respon mahasiswa positif dan mereka lebih termotivasi dan hasil tulisan meningkat setelah melakukan kolaborasi. Interaksi antara dosen-mahasiswa atau mahasiswa-mahasiswa dalam kelompok lebih hidup. Pada tabel rekapitulasi plus-minus assessment, kesalahan menulis di teks revisi jauh berkurang. Kedua, melalui peformance assessment, mahasiswa saling berkontribusi dalam kelompok masing-masing memberikan saran, dan perbaikan. Ketiga, manfaat kolaborasi menulis adalah tulisan mahasiswa lebih baik dalam grammar dan structure, mendapatkan motivational effect, serta meningkatkan social skill.
