Publication Ethics

ABDIMU is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. All parties involved in the publication process are expected to follow the ethical standards as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as well as International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

Authorship

Authorship limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the manuscript. All those who have made substantial contributions should be listed as co-author. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included on the manuscript. When a manuscript is submitted, it indicates that all authors have read, approved, and consented to the submission to this journal. The research's ethics, correctness, and quality must be the responsibility of all authors. Any changes to the authorship list after submission, such as additions, deletions, or rearrangement of author names, must be approved by all authors and justified to the editorial office.

Plagiarism

Authors are required to ensure that their manuscripts are free from plagiarism before submission. The journal employs plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin) to screen all submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts exhibiting a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references) will be returned to the authors for revision. Manuscripts with a similarity index above 30% will be rejected outright. Authors are encouraged to conduct plagiarism checks prior to submission to expedite the review process.

Duplicate of the publication

Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and have not been published elsewhere. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously, or publishing substantially similar content in multiple venues without proper acknowledgment, constitutes duplicate publication and is unethical. Such practices can distort the scientific record and waste editorial resources. If duplicate publication is identified, the manuscript will be rejected or retracted, and the authors' institutions may be notified. This journal adheres to the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to maintain the integrity of scholarly publishing.

Conflict of interest and funding

All authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial or non-financial, that might affect the study or how it is interpreted in order to preserve the integrity and openness of scientific publishing. The work's neutrality may be impacted by associations, financial sources, personal relationships, or intellectual beliefs, among other things. Authors should make it clear whether there are no conflicts of interest. The manuscript could be rejected or retracted if pertinent conflicts of interest are not disclosed. This journal complies with the conflict-of-interest disclosure rules established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Duties of the reviewers

Reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly publications. They are supposed to perform assessments impartially and constructively, offering authors honest and insightful feedback to help them refine their works. Reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality; they are not permitted to disclose any information about the manuscript or use its contents for their benefit. Any potential conflicts of interest, whether personal, financial, or academic, should be promptly disclosed to the editorial team. Reviewers must to notify the editor of any significant resemblances or overlaps with other papers and point out pertinent published work that the authors have not cited. Reviewers support the standards of ethical publication and enhance knowledge by following by these guidelines.

Duties of the editors

Editors are responsible to preserve both of the integrity and quality of the journal's content. They are required to make decisions about publication based solely on the manuscript's academic merits, its relevance to the journal's focus, and its originality, ensuring that these choices are devoid of any bias related to the authors' personal traits or affiliations. Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding the manuscripts submitted, sharing information only with those directly involved in the review and publication procedures. They need to actively recognize and prevent any conflicts of interest, avoiding engagement with manuscripts in which they have a personal stake. Additionally, editors should remain alert to issues of research misconduct, such as plagiarism or fabrication of data, and take suitable measures, including retractions or corrections, when needed.
